Supporting student success and well-being
Mission
The Dean of Students Office supports student success and well-being, fosters a safe and inclusive campus community, and helps students engage fully in their education.

Dear Slugs
Dear Slugs is a newsletter from Dean of Students Garrett Naiman, created to stay connected with students throughout the academic year. It shares helpful resources, upcoming events, and opportunities across campus. It is also a space to reflect on what’s happening in our campus community and to offer guidance and support as you navigate your experience at UC Santa Cruz.

Slug Support
Slug Support case managers are here to assist students who may be facing a range of challenges—from adjusting to college life, to needing additional resources, to navigating campus systems and services.

Student rights & responsibilities
UC Santa Cruz is a vibrant community that values both individual rights and collective responsibility. The Student Rights and Responsibilities section provides guidance to help individuals understand their rights and obligations as members of the campus community.

Campus elections
Your voice matters. Campus elections are one of the most powerful ways that Banana Slugs can shape the future of UCSC and participate in civic engagement. Whether you’re thinking about running for a leadership position in the undergraduate Student Union Assembly (SUA) or the Graduate Student Association (GSA), voting on critical student fee measures, or simply want to learn more about the campus elections process- this is your hub for up-to-date information. This page features important dates, deadlines, candidate details, ballot initiatives, campus elections archives with the outcomes of previous elections, and other key information to help you participate fully in the democratic process. Campus elections at UCSC reflect student voice and deliver meaningful change that directly shapes the student experience and the campus community. Get informed, get involved, and make it count.
